Your daily pay rate will increase incrementally each year and as you progress through the ranks. In addition, you'll receive one day's paid holiday for every 10 days you train.
Recruits (in initial training):
£42.29 per day
Private:
£53.79 per day
Lance Corporal:
£71.18 per day
Corporal:
£83.01 per day
Sergeant:
£93.40 per day
Second Lieutenant:
£87.10 per day
Lieutenant:
£90.15 per day
Captain:
£111.62 per day
Major:
£140.60 per day
If you meet your minimum training commitment of 27 days and also pass your annual Military Training Tests, you'll get a tax-free bonus payment on top of your pay.
*This is based on your level of commitment and starts at £470 in year 1, rising to £1,862 in year 5.
As of 28th October 2022, you now receive an additional bonus on the completion of certain training modules:
Soldiers
MOD 1: £500
MOD 3: £1,200
Officers
MOD B: £1,200
Commissioning Course Short: £2,000
